“Father, calm their fears…”
Oh, Lord God, when our children’s hands shake in fear,
When their frightened hearts race out of control, And when the cold sweat of an anxious moment
pours down their temples,
may You settle their very spirits with the assurance that You are close to them.
And may that deep calm be a sign of defeat to the enemy of their souls.
Heavenly Father,
We are comforted because we know You hear our prayers
when our children face those times they feel threatened and
they weep for fear of those things that might happen,
please help them to understand that there is only
one safe place to hide.
May their spirits be refreshed as they take shelter in Your protective arms.
Give them the strength to plant their feet not on the sand of uncertainty,
but on You, O Lord, the solid rock of eternal Hope.
We pray they will know that from everlasting to everlasting
Your love continues to sustain those who reverence You.
We know that fear and trust cannot occupy the same space at the same time.
It is because You are trustworthy that we pray our children will choose trust over fear.
“The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the defense of my life; whom shall I dread?”
Psalm 27:1
