“May their eyes on You be cast…”
Father,
There are many distractions and attractions that seek to capture the heart and soul of our children. All around them the “billboards” of this world are claiming, “here’s what you need; here’s where you should go; here’s the answer to your questions.” Sadly, some of us have made the mistake of looking to the world for our guidance and we have been left floundering and faltering. We don’t want this for our children.
Oh! God, please help our children fix their gaze upon You. Give them the courage to look past the temporal pleasures of this world and see the immeasurable riches of Your everlasting kingdom.
We pray that when they come to a crossroads in their lives, may they see only the Cross of Christ, Your beloved Son. And may it remind them to look only to You for their strength.
“Fix your gaze directly before you. Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.” Proverbs 4:24-31
“So, we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18
“My eyes are continually toward the Lord, for He will pluck my feet out of the net.” Psalm 25:15
