I’m excited to announce that our publisher, Harvest House Publishers in Eugene, Oregon has presented Steve with their “Harvest Gold Award.” The beautiful plaque he is holding in the picture represents over 1 million of his books that were sold (1,070,000 to be exact as of 2/25/14). Only a handful of writers with the company have received this prestigious award since they were founded in 1974.
Steve said about the award, “This plaque will be a visual reminder that the ‘outdoor insights’ I’ve written into the books have reached the hearts of so many others. God bless everyone at Harvest House Publishers for letting me team up with them. They deserve a plaque, too, and the best I can present them is in the form of letters I send them from readers whose lives have been changed as a result of one of the books. I also send them photos from time to time of my books that have been ‘well-read’ by hunters while in the field. The covers of the books are tattered and the pages are dog-eared
(see the lower left corner of the book in the photo!) from being carried to the woods and read multiple times. May God be praised for such an effective way to deliver His truth and hope to my fellow outdoorsmen and women.”
As Steve’s most avid supporter of his love for the great outdoors I want to thank all of you who have gotten a copy of one of his books either for yourself or someone else. I have to admit that you encourage me to encourage my “deer” husband to go more often to do “book research” (that’s his phrase for “I’m going hunting!”)

PS… On behalf of our family, our daughter, Heidi, went to her local Publix Store and ordered our own trophy to give to Steve for this milestone! Here’s a photo:
