  1. I read your book on life from tree stand and enjoyed most of it. I do dispute your take on immigrants however. There is a big difference between legal and illegal immigrants and we as a country are not bound to welcome ALL immigrants. When I personally meet or come in contact with an immigrant legal or not, then I am required to treat them kindly which I do and to be a witness to them in Jesus’s name. I am not required to vote and do other things to promote, encourage or enable illegal immigration which I don’t!

Paul…thanks for reading the book and I appreciate your comment. I agree that treating an immigrant kindly is always good but voting for or promoting illegal immigration is not something that’s good for our nation. I should have made that clear in my writing. Thanks for making the point. Blessings to you.

    Steve,
My name is Steve too. I wanted to let you know how much your example of faithfulness is/has been an encouragement to me. I am 68 and have been married for 43 years to the same wonderful lady whom I met at a Bible study the day after I gave my life to the Lord. Yes, it was during the Jesus Movement and we were out west in a little town called Page, AZ. Some in our group started listening to Dogwood and I for one at the time was so encouraged by it. I can’t tell you how many times those simple truths written in those country songs filled my heart with joy. I for one just want to say — Thank You – for then — and for now. I wondered from time to time what ever happened to you and Annie. Now I know, God is still working through your ministry. And, it gives me the courage myself to keep on loving the Lord — all the way to the finish line. God bless you and yours! (PS: we have 12 GK’s! God has blessed us so wonderfully. 🙂

Steve…(great name, by the way :)), thanks for your message. We are grateful that the Dogwood music provided inspiration for you through the years. The timespan of the group’s traveling and ministering was a good era (1974-1980). It was not an easy decision to leave but transitioning to singing as a duet with Annie was the right thing to do. The Lord provided a focus for our lyrics which was the family and we’ve been writing and singing songs about that topic ever since. Like you, our goal is to finish well. And congrats on 12 GrandSmiths. We have six, 4 doe and 2 buck, in our grandherd. Blessings to you. SC
